I have my heart set on a De Dietrich oven, it has everything I want including a spit. Problem is I have read a few bad reviews. Has anyone got one, any problems I should be aware of?

    Thanks

there has been an ongoing fault with the door locks on the pyro clean models for a few years, apart from that im not aware of anything in particular. although if you are spending that kind of money i would personally invest in a Neff

Certain Neff ovens do I believe.

Went to Harvey Normans yesterday just to have a look around. The sales assistant told me not to go near the De Dietrich range, they have had so many returns that they are gonna stop selling them.

He also said that was the same reason they got rid of the Neff range. Neff showrooms have a demonstration tomorrow, will go and have a look anyway.

I want a good oven that is reliable, any suggestions welcome

My arse, they're probably going to stop doing Neff because of a tight margin.

I just dumped my friends one. They had it for less than 4 years.
Die Dietrich double oven, the controls gave problems then the top oven stopped, then the bottom oven.
    They are junk IMO.
We have a Electrolux since the same time as they bought theirs and have had no problems with it. Good parts backup as well.

    So neff is reliable ?

Neff are genuinely worth the money. Don't think Electrolux are as good value for money.
Have a Belling in the house, going for about 6 years so far and literally nothing gone wrong so far. (I think DeDietrich are done by Dimpco too).
I wouldn't put you off a Belling myself though, even the after sales service is fantastic, had a customer at work call about a fridge that wasn't working, the engineer was with her within three hours.

Neff are fantastic ovens. If you go to the demo in KAL,you will be convinced. I can tel lyou that Harvey Normans are making no money on Neff and are pushing the likes of Nordmende because they have a much bigger margain.I know that for a fact.

    Looking forward to the demonstration.

Don't go near the De Dietrich. Piece of cr*p. Spent a fortune on a double oven and it was never right. Eventually just disentegrated. I have a 5 burner De Dietrich hob and that's been great but I would definately not recommend the oven.

I'd go into Discount Electrical on Mountjoy Square and ask for Geraldine.
Have a look at Vzug ovens too - very happy with ours.

Kaboom. Never came across a vzug oven myself so can't recommend them or discourage them.

Must say was impressed with the Demo. They showed you the Combi steam oven (not something I would really be inrested in) the combi oven-micro wave (really impressed with that one) and the circo therm oven. And you got to eat everything they cooked :D

I spoke to a few people there and they all really loved their ovens.

I had a sneaking suspicion I'd heard something about that, but couldn't remember. Pity.
