You should get the contractor to look at it, a lot of the weeds might just be ones that come up the first year to be never seen again but it would be better to be safe and get it sprayed if necessary.

chickweed and red shank can be a problem the first year but they won't be there next year.

I think a bit of dock and chickweed in the first one and mostly chickweed in the second. I would say you need to spray. There seems to be a bit of clover coming too. Is clover needed because the sprays needed that are clover safe are way more expensive than a straight broad spectrum weedkiller

chickweed and as 5 live also said, maybe some docks.

I would go with a clover safe spray. I wouldn't worry about the chickweed.

Yeah as min said the chickweed can be grazed off easily if you are going to graze this year and anyway both broad spectrum and clover friendly sprays will kill it. The dock is the boy to hit. I think CMPP or MCPA is about E5 an acre but the clover friendly ones about E25 an acre

Is there any point in spraying for weeds at this time of the year? We reseeded about 6 weeks ago but I reckon we will leave it until next spring to hit them because the way I see it is not much will grow between now and spring so might as well get them when there growing... Maybe I'm completely wrong on this point, advice???

In much the same boat, reseeded 3 weeks ago and wondering much the same thing, is there any point at this time of year? my gut would tell me to leave til the spring. I think (weather permitting) it might be more important to get it lightly grazed before the winter (with light stock, weanlings perhaps)

Im in the same boat also. Reseeded about 3 weeks ago. Going to leave it until the spring. I don't think the grass is strong enough. It will be stunted by a spray before the winter. Thats my opinion, Hopefully I'm right.

ya i was going to leave it till spring butfrom what lads tell me its a bad idea to let that chickweed get a hold so will spray mine, it s was done end of aug so think it should be ok, got hold of alistell today which should take care of it

ah I see, chickweed isnt a problem on mine thankfully, mainly docks.. I'll hit them next year and clover too(if there is any), I'm not a fan of clover when using alot of fertilizer. It gets in the way of grass

I wouldnt worry about chickweed if i was going grazing it this year and it should be grazed i think, to help tillering. But docks are easier to control as seedlings and are a right pain to get rid of when established
