    Hi all,

I recently got a new 40 inch Samsung TV and Blu ray. It says I have HDMI and when I click that I get options of internet TV, videos, music etc. It wont allow me connect to the internet when I plug the modem in as it says the port is protected by a firewall.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks!

what are you trying to get working, the blu-ray player or the internet tv functionality?

basic question, have you read the manual for the two devices?

You need to understand NAT and Router settings if you want the Internet TV feature to work. It's unlikely that it doesn't work via a Router (Firewall / NAT).

Read up on DHCP, Gateway, Static IP, DMZ, Port Forwarding and such.

This is nothing to do with HDTV or satellite
