New Speakers for Punto Mk2

    Hello all,

I'm looking for a bit of help in deciding on the best route to upgrading the speakers in my Punto (other than getting a different car :p) and would appreciate any and all input.

The front speakers are 10/13cm (I've been told they should be no deeper than 50mm due to issues with the window but I'm not 100% sure on this) and the back speakers are 17cm.

My current head unit is a Pioneer DEH 3900 MP

I listen to a broad range of music but favour classical and would be looking for quality over heavy bass.

I'm a bit confused over the whole thing really, I get that the front door speakers are just normal speakers and that the two tiny speakers are tweeters but where do the subwoofers go as the back speakers seem to be just normal speakers as well which seems rather pointless. I don't want to fit speakers to the boot tray nor do I want some huge sub taking up what little boot space there is in the car so does this mean I have no option other than to not install a sub?

Finally, I've been told that JBL make good speakers, is this true and what would be the other good brands to look at?

Sorry for all the questions but I really don't know much about installing a car audio system and I'd probably leave it be if not for the fact that the current speakers are broken and make an awful sound.

    Thanks in advance,
    Antar.
