Buying warranty seperate from dealer?

    Anyone recommend any - how do they work? A recent dealer I spoke to mentioned one starting with free....(dom)?? Said it would cost 250 for year....not sure if this is good or bad......advice appreciated. Thanks.

    (id find this particularly useful if the dealer is too far from home to be travelling to for warranty repairs and if it can help me get the price of the car down too!):D

    Might have been mapfre. Many dealer are actually buying these warranties for cars they sell. The dealer is obliged to offer some form of warranty anyway so you should bargain with him for the years warranty through mapfre or similar.

    I did indeed do that to the point where he would have paid for the full warranty, but decided against car as engine size too big. Thanks.
