    Hi all,
we have an old 165 massey fergerson digger that's on it's last legs. every winter it breaks down and we fix it, last year with the freeze t'was a nightmare to start. so i'm looking for opinions of what to get. we've a ford 7030 to do general farm work, thinking of maybe upgrading to get one decent tractor. anyone buy tractors up North?
    so any ideas welcome,

Had a MF 50 hx with sheargrab and taught it was brilliant until i got a case 5140 with a decent quicke loader. It makes the digger look heavy slow and awkward i don't miss the digger 1 little bit. You could pick up a similar tractor loader for 10-12k euro on donedeal. You need a clutchless shuttle and joystick loader. I can handle 2 bales of silage with my outfit.
Also found with the digger it was rarely used for digging and when it was it would blow a pipe so the day was gone fixing that. Probably should of replaced all pipes.
A bit off the wall idea instead of a digger what about a 4wd masted forklift loader like a jcb 926 saw 1 for 3700

hi st1979, same problem with us, pipes usually give in, although we have replaced nearly all by now!.
thanks for the tip on the jcb, will run it by the bossman.
