How to get rid of large transparent caps lock symbol on Windows 7

    Every time I press Caps ( on or off ) a large transparent caps lock symbol appears on the screen for a few secs blocking a part of the lower middle of the screen. Its getting very annoying.......
    How do I switch this off? I'm using Windows 7

    That isn't part of windows 7, its part of the software installed by your computer manufacturer. It varies from manufacturer but email them as to how to get rid of it.

    This can be set by a number of programs.

    When I added a bluetooth dongle to a laptop with a clean windows 7 install, the WIDCOMM drivers added this caps lock indicator.

    to remove, I had to change a registry key.

    So start "regedit"
    Look to see whether the key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Widcomm \ BTConfig \ General \ KeyIndication
    exists.
    If so change KeyIndication to 0

    You don't need to close regedit to get this to activate.
    So immediately after changing the value and clicking OK, you can hit caps lock to ensure that it's worked or not.
