Just out of interest, Tyrone Mc Cullagh is from Illies in Donegal.

How is he able to compete in the Games?

Was just wondering and it's no way a sectarian question.

The club might be in Doneland but I think he is from Derry

Anyway - 4 medals picked up today, only thing to decide is the colour - Paddy Barnes got one yestrday as well!

    Fight reports here - http://boxing-ireland.com/20101003_commonwealth_games_diary_43.html

Maybe the same way as Barry McGuigan from Clones competed in Canada in 1978.

Five finalists - what a team!!

Never in all my time watching boxing tournaments at this level have I witnessed a performance like it; 9 boxers travelled, five through to the very last stage.

Clubs, country, families and coaches can be very proud of every single one. I was even proud of the dodgey green 'line-dancers' hats, the weird white and green wigs and the shamrock flags the cheer-leaders in the stadium had on display.

It's many a day since I shouted at a telly in my sober senses, but today was that day.

    Well done.

Eamon O'Kane Paddy Gallagher and Paddy barnes get gold so far for Norn Iron
    Top Boxing nation at CG

    Amazing performance from Northern Ireland.
As efb says, the top Boxing Nation at the Commonweralth games with 3 Golds and 2 Silvers.

It really illustrates the quality we have in Ireland as a whole, because only one of those fighters(Barnes) is pretty much guaranteed to represent the full Irish team at his weight.
