The P1 Front lip is in Ajs Worx in Ballincollig, just painted. Not fitted yet.

Genuinley, if your looking for an Impreza that hasnt been ragged or dogged and has been treated like a baby this is it.
With Imprezas people say its hit or miss, but I can honestly say ill sell this car on with no worries for the new owner.
It drives like a dream and has never gone without including running on octane booster till it was mapped.

Not at all tbh, I'd just be wary, I'd never go on a sellers word that a car has been well minded, also try see if he's on any of the owners clubs, he may have post about problems he's had with the car

It's a lot of car for 2k. Get it properly checked over though as it 16 years old. What's the milage?

If it's as described then it's a whole lot of car for 2k.
    Setup sounds good.
If it can safely be ran @ 1.1 bar then you're talking a lot of power.

Get a mechanic to take a look or someone who knows what they're doing.
A lot of bad points can be hard to spot.
Maybe consider doing a quick compression test on the engine.
This'll give you some idea about the state of the engine, testers can be bought cheaply from Halfords.

check for oil leaks on both heads.

your going to be out alot of money running it on 95 octane using octane boosters etc. if you use normal petrol it wont be mapped perfectly.

    worth the €2000 lads?

Couple of Q's to ask the owner. Have it independently checked over. I'm sure if you tell us where you live you'll get suggestions for a good mechanic to look it over. If everything checks out, and the mileage is right then 2k is good and paying a mechanic to check it over will be worth the few quid. If it's in as good a nick as he says, he wont have any problems with you wanting an independent check done.

Ask him has he had it dyno'd and is there any knocks at the top end of the range.

    Ok guys:

    • I thought petrol stations all dish out 95 Octane?
    • I live in Midleton in Cork
    • Thanks for telling me more questions I should ask
    • 114,000 miles

I think there is a bit of confusion regarding the octane number in this thread. Irish fuel is mostly 95ron, Jap cars run better on 98ron but this car is set up to run on 95(according to the info above) so you're all good

What the seller is saying is that he ran Octane Booster until he got it mapped to take our fuel

A compression test and checking the diffs would be high on my list of things id check before buying.

Subaru owners club will explain how to do this if you goggle there site.

right lads, this plan of mine just went down the swanny.:(:( I asked Axa to insure it and they said I had to be thirty with 5 years NCB. Now I understand the NCB bit, but by the time i'm 30, these kinda cars will be non existent.

I'm also lost because I got a quote of only 400 more on my premium with a
3.0 ltr Turbo Legacy. Is this age discrimination and have I any recourse? I don't want to change insurance companies as I have a good deal going with AXA.

    Thanks lads.

Call and go into every insurance broker and insurer you can. Insurance on these is difficult at the best of times.

Use the search function on boards to search this section[modified cars] for recommended insurers. There are at least 10 recent enough threads

    Best of luck.
