Consider the Chuck;Fringe and Glee forums as an example, NOBODY posts in there now!....when you consider such threads being in the main forum you had alot more activity, posts and thread views.

Maybe people aren't aware of these subforums?

Maybe people don't care for those shows. Dexter for example has posts.

the glee one has posts (mostly richard dower but still ;) )

I'm not a fan of having sub forums for separate programmes however, it seems pointless for most programmes. I Got the point of having one for Lost, but most programmes don't generate as much discussion as Lost did.

Get rid of them. Keep all tv stuff in one forum. Only keep the ones being updated regulary.

    That would be horrendous.

If someone can't figure out how to find a forum then I'm fine with not being subjected to their posts because I doubt they'll have much value.

I think the reality is that some of the programmes which have their own subforum do not have enough depth to sustain constant, long term discussion on a number of topics relating to the programme in question.

Now if Fair City had its own subforum, maybe...

They should be limited to 'big' shows. I usually forget about the Chuck and True Blood forums. On the other hand, it's nice to have no Glee in the main forum.

well i just have my bookmark set for the first televison forum, which lists all the shows that have sub-forums, including the sci-fi ones, then i can just go into the televison sub-forum for the other shows,

its only 2 episodes into fringe and chuck, so those forums havent had a chance to take off, both, paticulary fringe should generate mulitiple threads, surround mysterys and carcaters, thus the reason of having them in the first place,

i believe i made an argument about this in the forum request for fringe, saying that some shows are justified to have there own sub-forums, like chuck and fringe were getting thousands of posts and views over the season, much larger than others like TBBT 2.5 men and ROE, so therefore theres enough interest in these shows to justify them having there own dedicated forum, i also stated that if a forum isnt reciveving anough traffic ie, prison break, chuck norris, heroes, they should be removed,

i know it might be a bit of hassel, but i dont see why at the start of each season there cant be a clean-up of the televison forum, removing old shows that are long over, and adding newer shows that will attract traffic,

all sub-forums are requested and if enough people request them the mods are happy to create the forum for the fans, maybe we need to vote on what shows should also be removed

p.s. no active shows once requested and still airing should be allowed to be removed, so all the glee fans need not worry the glee haters will shut there forum down, :D

The True Blood forum is jam packed:confused: As for Fringe the sub forum was only launced at the end of season 2 and were only just into season 3 and most people posting on the Fringe thread asked for a sub forum!

Instead of a sub-forum for each show - how about one for each genre??
    Like Action, drama, comedy etc...

As others have said, I think certain shows like Lost and others that have a huge following deserve their own forum but other shows, especially those that are over (including lost) or cancelled can safely be closed (isn't that why there is a "cancelled/finished tv shows" section?). Shows like the mighty boosh (which I love) are a little too "culty" to have their own forum imo

How are cancelled/finished shows decided? Heroes, Prison Break, Lost and The Wire all fit the bill in that there are no more being made, but episides are probably still being syndicated. Maybe a year after the last episode airs in its country of origin a show should be marked as finished?

The problem with genre sub-forums is that a lot of shows straddle several categories. There's not a huge lot wrong with the current set up really.

That's true actually. The reason I forget it is that I have no interest in the rubbish that goes on in most threads so I guess it's just as well that stuff is not in the main forum
