I stumbled across a dentists in Dublin that only charge €30 for a checkup which isn't too bad I think? We're in Co.Cork so may never get to them (but we might) but for anyone in Dublin it might save a few bob http://www.myteeth.ie/?page_id=39

And came across this dental practice in Warrenpoint, Co.Down who seem to have some good prices too http://www.gentledentalclinic.com/fee-guide.php

before you go there, remember that if you have been paying PRSI contributions for 5 years or more that you're entitled to a free check up a year. i'm pretty sure the place that this crowd have in ballsbridge (although think bath ave is in irishtown) doesn't have a dentist either, so it's city centre option only

Good if you only want the examination.

Thought the option to have a dental check up through your PRSI had been pulled along with the scale and polish treatment you could get through your PRSI in Dec 2009. Thanks for the info. though its good to know, as with so many changes to entitlements its hard to know what we are entitle to anymore.

the free check up is the only thing that's still there for patients who contribute to PRSI. there's a few more things still there for med card patients.

Thats true. I got a checkup, filling, xray and removal for £15 in Portadown. Root canal was £100 so screw that.

£15 (seriously?) is scarily cheap for that! Why am I thinking of Marathon Man now? I won't be asking for the name of that dentist, tbh.

Really? Jese, that's very good, that's unreal. But it's Portadown, if I opened my mouth to ask for directions I may need a few teeth replaced as well.....

You should put up where in Portadown and a phone number.

was that not the price if you have NI (national insurance) stamps from the UK?
