    Hi

I have been working for the past two years after spending a few years before that unemployed/mature student/looking after my sick da...I thought I'd be happy to get back to work (my da has passed on) but I find that I'm bored and spend every Saturday and Sunday looking forward to the next weekend or the next holiday...I'm a teacher so I have plenty of holidays anyway and I know I'm lucky to have a job etc but I find that I'm not happy with what I'm doing, but wonder if I'd ever be happy...I know I wasnt happy when I wasnt working and had no money and envied teachers who could work and didnt have anyone to take care of but now I'm wishing I didnt have to work and could live that period of my life where I took it easy and was just spending time with my old man over again.......

The other side of the fence is always greener.

If you're genuinely not happy with what you are doing, then that's something you need to sit down and think about. However nobody loves their job every day of every week - please bear that in mind.

As someone who's not working...it fast becomes pretty awful having a whole heap of time on your hands and nothing to fill it. Don't get me wrong, it's great that I can suit myself, but I'd rather have a job. Too much time on your own with yourself is not healthy. I presume you have bills to pay too...believe me, having a career is not nearly as restricting as not having one.
