    Hey,

i'm just wondering what the ladies think of guys who where suit jackets out on a night out.

like a suit jacket, shirt/t shirt and jeans?

its just one of my mates often wears one but rarely gets any where with women. and i'm wondering if its the suit jacket:confused:

They suit some lads(no pun intended!) and look stupid on others. Tell him to ditch it for a while-if he pulls, the suit jacket doesn't work! :D

Fella's in suits nearly always look good. Obviously depends on where you're going to.

I highly doubt its his attire that putting the ladies off him.. Unless it looks like he borrowed his Dad's jacket.

LOL, an Eamonn Dunphy tweed one with elbow patches. Nah, the ladies might not go for that :p

could be the answer I wouldnt think much of a fella with a 'blazer' because I would think one of two things 1. his mammy dressed him, 2. he thinks hes a yuppy

I thought women went for charm and personality. How disappointing to find out otherwise.

I'd regularly wear a suit jacket over jeans, shirt and shoes, and although I'm a dead ringer for Raoul Moate I do ok.

I think its a look better suited (pun!) to taller lads as the jacket over jeans can make smaller guys look a little stumpy.

I Wear Coats and Jackets mostly meself, but anything Doublebreasted makes you look like an idiot IMO, the only thing worse is a Safari 'Suit'

    +1

It makes them look like kids dressed as adults.

so that's what i have been doing that's wrong.... i have been wearing a suit jacket, i was convinced it was my hideous looks and my fat belly that prevented me from pulling

I reckon it all comes down to how the the ladies perceive it. When they see your bud wearing the jacket does it - (A) looks like it belongs on him or (B) looks like it's stolen. Because I suspect it might be the latter option.

I've seen pictures of you - do you really think anyone is willing to risk telling you that you some item of clothing doesn't suit you? Yeesh.

So you're a big guy, with a gun and possibly a swastika tattoo? Yes, that suit jacket looks wonderful on you.

I wear them and they look good on me. But in fairness I have about three t shirts, a pair of jeans, countless shorts, a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a blazer. I don't exactly have a great deal to choose from.

Man I need to go shopping, I hate it though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,547 ✭✭✭Agricola

I think the jacket, tshirt, jeans combo suits really slim guys. In my mind its the style for the pothead, beardy, student type and suits them down to the ground!
Guys who have abit of muscle or fat dont really carry it off well. I know this cause I tried it and it ended badly!

Wear what you like, not what you think others would like.

Everyone who wears them obviously thinks the same or else they wouldn't be wearing them. So even the guy who looks like he's making his first holy communion thinks he looks the sh1t.

If their short and stocky it won't look well but as long as they're tall with broad shoulders it looks ok.

Well I was fat, but have lost alot over the last 8 months. Not enough to wear a suit jacket though!

I don't think you have to be fat or muscular in order to pull off a suit jacket. If you're slender and the jacket is someone fitted, then you can look perfectly alright.

Just like to point out that this thread is now in Fashion and Appearance. Much as I love AfterHours this is a totally different forum in attitude and approach and so I'd like posters to be aware of the charter here.
Enjoy the forum and the thread.
    :)
