Laptop Screen Replacement Costs

Hi, I have a laptop that I used twice, I stood on it when the lid was closed when i got out of bed one morning and I damaged the screen, it turns on ok but half the screen is cracked (on the inside)

I just wanted to find out how much would it cost me to be replaced/repaired?


I may do it myself depending on price from a repair centre..

Any idea on prices?

ps : also the screen is 15.4 inch can I replace it with any other model laptop screen or does it have to be an advent model?

screens are expensive but fairly easy to replace, expect to pay 150-200 on ebay

an OEM Manufacture would charge you 2-3 times that amount. 150e is for the cost of the screen.

I previously bought a replacement 15.4" WXGA screen for $180; HP was asking for ~$600. Ultimately I spent $200 with the jeweler's toolkit and the glass of bourbon: you feel nervous the first time you crack open your $1500 laptop.

the ones i see on ebay are around 90 euro average 15 inch screen,
it may be worth while put ad on adverts.ie ,wanted old dell 570 or your laptop,model x,, then just take out the screen yourself.
i have a old advent , cpu sempron 2.oghz,laptop, what model have you got.

It is an ADVENT (7109B) laptop, I bought it 2 years ago and used it twice! perfect condition (apart from the screen)

100 for screen if get it without vat, 50 labour,

Ive never used them before so I cant recommend but its easy to install if you are confident with a screwdriver.

If you are around Waterford I will do it for €50.
