You might want to say what the problem is...

How can you be miles behind everyone else, surely you've only been in College a few weeks?

I got into 2nd year because i had a sporting background but NO background in ACCOUNTING?

So the class would of done ACCOUNTING 1 in 1st year and were doing ACCOUNTING 2 now in 2nd year. Most of the others would of done business in there leaving .... I DIDNT.

I have ZERO understanding of the subject and need to learn asap. So im starting from the start and need to process FAST.

In that case you need to buy the reading material the 1st years use and start reading.

Pretty much what he said. There's no quick fix, and even if there was, it'd catch up with you fairly quickly.

I went back to college late and am now a trainee with the big four - found this book really helpful -

    http://www.exceltip.com/book-1570713960.html

It is deliberately simplified and slightly contrived but the fact is it explains the basic concepts better than any other textbook I've seen.

So many lecturers and texts just dive into debits, credits, accruals etc and if you don't know the basics it might as well be in Dutch.

Read this book and then pay for one on one grinds is my advice. If you don't get the basics right you'll be playing catch up for the rest of the course.

Take a few weeks to catch up now. It's not that bad if you get someone patient to go over it all with you.

Is there an access officer (disability officer) in your college?

I remember when I was in college that people who had trouble with a subject could ask the access officer for help & they could get a tutor for a few hours to help them out.

Also, you could approach your lecturer & explain you are having trouble. They may be able to give you some extra material to help you out and at least they will know you are in difficulty with the subject.

Well its not seen as a disability that i NEVER studied ACCOUNTING before in my leaving or college.

Im shocked really, when i approached my tutor on day 1 made him and my course director aware of it, and after 3 weeks my course director forwarded me an e-mail from my course tutor of accounts saying that i will NOT pass the accounting module as im to far behind.

Not really a vote of confidence really, so basically i still go to the class but im TOTALLY igroned by the tutor and am totally lost. I have tried UCC, CIT, and GRIFFIN college and cant find a suitable tutor to give grinds.

I went to the Mature student office in CIT, and the Learning Support Centre and they said not much they can do. Just put a notice up on the notice board and hope someone contacts me.

Personally i think its not good enough but nothing much i can do?
