    No in short.
that looks like a ratchet type one, draper expert is generally good stuff and my local tool merchant ( draper agent) exchanges defective tools no quibble. in my case was a ratchet spanner that gave up
    gonna check that out myself!

no, guessing thats a bit like the monument pipeslice. Just on another note I've got a 15mm and 22mm plastic pipeslice from rothenberger that cuts polyplumb, hep, joe guest speedfit etc. only takes one twice they are great in small spaces that you cant get the ratchet cutters into

Thanks for the replies ,I've seen them rothenberger slices around and never thought to look at them properly. I'll check them out.

I've been using the standard 15 and 22 slices since they came out. My main reason for looking for something like a ratchet ,is to get in at pipes at the side of fireplaces. It's impossible to get a turn on the slice ,if theres no room.

In the meantime I was thinking of using one of these with a standard pipeslice ,might do the job.

I would use water pump pliers around the slice sometimes to help turn in tight places or I find wearing a pair of tight working gloves and fingertips help turning the slices.

I do that myself ,but sometimes the pipes are so close and tight that you can barely get the slice on.

You know the way four pipes come out of the floor ,1" apart and you need to cut the middle one:eek:

I'm good at tight pipework ,but I'm fed up working to limits of tools to be honest ,thats why I'm trying to open up the options.
It's not a rant ,just trying to make things easier.

    Cheers.

yeah I know I understand completely but the 1st tool u mentioned would still be as hard to get the slice on I think and the red strap one would have to go round the slice still I think. Its a pain in the ass trying to cut something thats nearly impossible to get at!

Even tho I change the wheel in my slices often I still change the slice every year or so at the very least because I find the new wheels are not as good as the original that comes in the new slice. Probably all phycological :)

No markings on it, goes up to 29mm.

Pretty sure it is from Monument Tools.
