My boiler is a Potterton Promax Promax System HE Plus A and it's not working. For the last few days it gave E133 and after a few resets it is now displaying E168 which I understand from searching on Google means I need a new PCB.

This thing has given me nothing but trouble and it's about the third time in less than two years it's broken down. Conveniently it's out of warranty. I'm wondering since I'll probably have to pay to get this piece of **** fixed, roughly what kind of costs I should expect to stump up to replace the part in question. Obviously there may be other issues but any guidance would be great since my preliminary research shows it'll be €1,500 - €2,500 to get a new boiler so this is probably not an option for me.

Itg all depends on the cost of the PCB. I have not had the pleasure of working on the Promax yet:( but if the PCB replacement of the Suprima is anything to go by it would be between €400-€500 euro(the whole boiler has to be rewired). Potterton/Baxi are like Microsoft of the boiler world, The bring a product out on the market and fix all the problems later (or should I say get you to pay for all the problems later). What else has gone wrong with it in the two years.

Hey sorry for the delayed response and thanks for the replies to date.

Twice the Potterton guy had to come out. The first time he replaced something but I wasn't here so I can't tell what it was. The second time he had to replace the igniter I think and something that was connected to it.
