To ask the obvious question, Are you winding the baby enough? You should stop frequently and wind them. If air builds up in their tummy they are more likely to bring up the feed.

hi op. my little one had the same problem and i brought her to the doctor and was told that it was caused by a tiny bit of trapped wind from the start of the feed, that was never brought up so the only thing you can do is wind her like theres no tomorrow!
i started giving her infacol and it done the trick but i think the child may have to be 4weeks to take it but im not sure. what kind of bottles do you use? there are some fab ones called Dr. Browne

hi i had the very same problem with my baby when he was around the same age,i was really worried because i was afriad he would get sick when i put him to bed and not to mention all the washing lol but dont worry it takes a while for any baby to get used to the foumula and im sure this will pass like it did with my baby after a week or too, and also as long as he is still gaining weight if you get him weighed in your clinic then baby is ok..

Small babies bring up a lot of their feeds, that's just the way it goes. you may think they're bringing up their entire feed but trust me it's rarely the case.

I really wouldn't be chopping and changing with the formulas unless she was projectile throwing up after every bottle. I know as parents we would try anything to help our babies, but a lot of the time we try everything.

As the others said, burp regularly, try feeding her with her sitting up a bit more as well. Just remember that in another 5 weeks it will all seem easier.

    Good Luck!

Try giving her smaller feeds more often and wind her alot in between.

Our daughter was a happy chucker from birth - used to throw up all the time. We worried about it too, but it never bothered her and the doc said it was just the way she was. (She's two now and still likes to upchuck every now and again to remind us)

The solution was patience and towels. Lots of towels.

Unless it's projectile and after every bottle I would not be worried about it. Some babies are just very pukey. Don't change the formula too often either that can upset them even more.

    This worked well for us.

There's a rule though....I can't quite remember it. Something like if it's 3 in a row and some amount of time without keeping one down then you should seek medical attention, something like that (I'd suggest googling. I would but I'm banjaxed and heading to bed). Our middle one was a proper puker. Projectile stuff. It seemed fairly random but it passed eventually.

One or two a day (out of 7 or 8) ain't bad.

Just focus on gentle winding and keeping upright while winding.

Obviously don't bathe baby after feed. Puke guaranteed.

Also don't pass baby around after feeds... any activity may be stimulating the reflex.

Changing formula can be stressful for baby... Trust be I have 8 month old twins and we changed a few times for a variety of reasons. And guess what? They are both back on good 'ol SMA gold top. I don't advise changing formula unless you are sure it's the problem.

Bottom line; your health visitor will tell you if the baby is gaining enough wait. If she is, then you are doing great.

vomiting may not be beacause of wrong formula, even breastfed babies get reflux, usually when they had too much at one feed.

Try winding her with her sitting on your lap, rather than over the shoulder if you don't do it already? Could be as simple as shoulder pressing on her tummy.

we had the same problem and the doctor recommended gaviscon,. which was great, but I didn't want to keep him on it long term. He was a projectile vomitter after every meal. The girl in the creche suggested a goats milk formula which also worked a treat.
it was twice the price of the normal stuff, but worth it....

I can't rememer what age my son was before he started taking these, but check them out...

    best of luck!

Thanks a mill for all the advice!!! She's on the sma gold top and absolutely flying it she's turned into a savage in a couple of days :) I think she just needed a bit of time to get used to it and me being a first timer was panicing :)

    Thanks again
