    Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a PS3 not just for it's gaming functionality, but more so for it's blu-ray player and 320GB harddrive which I'd like to use as a music system.

My question is this - is there a good speaker system that can be attached to the PS3 to enhance the enjoyment of the music.

    Boobar

just hook the tv up to a big set of speakers or use the tv's speakers if there good quality - pretty simple tbh

if you really want to find a good set of speakers or whatever just go to some of the music forums because they'd know a way more about speakers - this isn't really a ps3 issue really and they'll know way more about it than us here in playstation forum

boobar, PS3 has an optical out, so you can hook up pretty much any decent amplifier system to PS3. You can have just the video directed to TV (HDMI etc) and still have the audio going directly to the amp thru optical out.

Or there's an option called multi out which means you can have the sound come out through both tv and sound system

The music menu structure on the ps3 is terrible I think ,I much prefer using the xbox for music.

Agree. The interface is not the best on the PS3 when it comes to music.
