    would a hp chager work on an acer aspire 5315. i'v been told in a shop in would and its 50 euro for one

    Any charger that has the right voltage,polarity, and the correct size power connector to plug in to it will work,I got a universal laptop charger set in a shop in moore st dublin, it has connectors for 8 different types of laptops, from 15volt to 21 volt ,and does 18.5 and 19.5 voltage input,.FIRST set the correct voltage, and the put on whatever connector tip fits your laptop,cost 40 euro.
    i tried, it on 5 laptops and it worked every time.
    google your laptop ie advent 520 power supply and you,ll see the voltage rating,it should also be on a label underneath ,the underside of the laptop,
    eg 19volt 4amp ,most laptops are plus on top,minus underneath polarity.

    the hp unit should work, if the output is 19volt, 3 amps or larger ampage,
    make sure the polarity is the same too,there s a label on the charger with all the volt,amo,polarity info,diagrams .Thats, assuming the socket end connector fits into the advent power socket,input.there seems to be 8 or 9 types of socket used for laptops in the uk/ireland in my experience.
