Heading for the lower shannon on saturday or sunday if anyones interested :)

The guide on irishwhitewater doesn't do much for it so didn't link it. It's a nice enough river with grade 3 on a nice level with a good amount of drops.

Let me know if your interested

Is it common to paddle with people you wouldn't know on grade 3 or 4 rivers?

Just curious, I know I'd like to know someone could throw a rope if I ever needed it and would like previous paddle knowledge of a group before setting out.

I'd say it's reasonably common. I'd be happy enough paddling whilst using some common sense. It's the best way to meet new people and paddle new rivers.
