I've seen 3 dead pigeons today. All in places very far apart. It's making me a tad uneasy.
    Is this considered an omen?

Only in so far as it has been a bad day for pigeons.

They are quite clumsy bird and make easy prey for predatory birds but to see three dead without any markings suggests either disease or impact related deaths.

    Wo ist die Gemütlichkeit?

Never heard of a superstition about dead birds. There are plenty about live ones. Id say it co-inky-dinks. As mentioned pigeons are clumsy and their evasive flight paths when threatened dont work with oncoming cars.

Its a common question, but alas its relates to no omen. A bird flying into your house forewarns death if you believe that stuff.

This is probably the vaugest answer, but, I heard something on the radio Wicklow/Wexford area about some investigation into something that was used on the land. Apparantly theres been a large amount of birds found dead in the area. I remember thinking 'that's creepy'. Bird superstitions give me the heebie jeebies!!

I'd say they are probably being poisoned.
Have you seen any other types of dead birds-crows etc?
Also have you found any birds that were sick but not dead yet?

If you saw one of them in Grand Canal Square, I know what happened. He/she hit the window beside my desk and that was that. Poor thing.

The day my dog died my cat decided that he would bring home a dead blackbird. My dog lived with my parents. And the cat had never caught a bird before, he's 3. He had only ever got small mice and even at that he couldnt kill them.

On the day in question i opened my bedroom door and the feathers flew everywhere, very creepy. Cat was no where in sight but dead bird at the door (was i thankful that i kept the door closed that night:p) It set my on edge for the whole day and as you would imagine it had me thinking about death. Then i got the call that afternoon that my 14 year old dog was dying. :(

Its a very emotional time and so the bird felt like sign,a preparation of sorts,to get me thinking about death.
