Peugeot 407, Leaking Shock Absorber

    NCT yesterday and failed due to leaking shock absorber. Anyone have a clue if this is expensive to fix??

    Car is 2004 diesel 1.6 407

    shock absorbers are relatively cheap.. not sure the price for your specfic model, but should be in the 50 to 100 euro mark for a standard non peugeot part...

    Buy in pairs and replace in pairs... is the advice i would give...

    easy enough DIY or around 1.5 hours for a local mechanic to do.

    Always replace shocks in pairs. So you'ld need to replace the shocks on both the sides of your car.

    They cost around 100eur each for OEM ones. But you can also get cheaper ones.

    It's not too difficult diy job. But you'ld need to buy spring compressors to get the springs off the struts. They cost around 40eur I think.
