Hey, does anyone know when you should start applying for the JET programme for next year? I hear it is very tough to get offered a place but I would like to try none the less. Also, does anyone know if it costs anything to apply, and I understand there is an essay required from each applicant? Would appreciate any info on any of this, cheers!

All reet there dude, I'm on JET at the moment - I think I posted up some advice before so if you search JET program or whatever then you'll find it. It won't start for a while, but you can check the website and it'll say. There'll also be a talk in Trinity before it all starts so you'll find out through a careers service email too.

It doesn't cost anything just a lot of photocopying.

If you have any other questions in particular pm me and I'll try to write back. But in general there is a huge amount of info you'll find about JET/life in Japan through google. がんばれ!
