Looking to buy 07 diesel 65,000 miles clean 2 owners
E10900 cash with 6 month waranty
    Reasonable value?
Should I be worried about 2 owners?
Am I allowed to ask dealer if I can speak to previous owner?
    Thanks guys

Wife had a 2005 one. Couple of points:
    1. Make sure its a 4WD version - they're not good in 2WD and will be near impossible to sell on
    2. Timing belt interval is 40,000 - make sure it was done
    3. Turbo is a known problem with these and are expensive
    4. I presume its a 6 speed box (wife's 2005 was a 5 speed - not recommended!)
    5. Are you aware of the actual MPG that you will get with one of those? Its nowhere near the published figures. Think 29-30 mpg on long runs and 23-25 mpg around town.

10,900 is probably about right on price if its a 4WD. In my opinion dont touch it if its 2WD

    Thanks for that,
Appreciate your comments. I have a freelander which has broken my heart. Please tell me this will be more reliable!! Its 2WD but I dont need 4WD- I just prefer to be a bit higher up. Also I fill the freelander(about 55 l) and I get 450 miles. Would the tuscon be similar?

If you are looking for reliability then I dont think you will find it in the tuscon. The list of items that went on the wifes are:
Clutch master cylinder, turbo unit, gearbox and then engine sensors - the hyundai garage spent an age even diagnosing the engine sensors. I strongly suspect that you will have more heartbreak with a tuscon.

I cant emphasise enough how important it is, if you do buy a tuscon, it must be the 4wd version. The 2wd version does not have good road handling and you will be lucky to sell it on when you're finished with it.

The best we ever got out of a tank was 350 miles - so you'll be looking at a significantly higher fuel bill in the tuscon.

APart from the reliability and fuel consumption its a really nice machine to drive - very comfy!

some great advise there from fencer, iv had very little dealings with them(thank god), only had one pass through my gates, 2wd, it broke the mechanics hart! similar problems that were mentioned but not as much. ya looked at anything else? I had a 07 terious recently and i found it quite good, not as big as the tuscon but has the bit of height. I cant comment too much on them because its the only one iv delt with but i know the previous owner who thought it was great and got a new model one and the new owner has had no trouble. Maybe some of the other lads will have more indo about them

OP, do you actually need a diesel? If not but still want a high driving position then maybe a Nissan Quashqai might be worth looking at?

Most are 2wd and they were available in 1.6 petrol if you don't do diesel mileage:

+1 on that, actually a great recommendation, though I think the 1.5 diesel version would be even better - its very economical by all accounts!!!
