Myself and my good wife are going to see Peter Kay in London O2 at the start of November. Could anyone reccomend a good hotel more central London rather than near the O2. I don't mind spending a few bob on it as we don't get away too often due to the 4 smallies at home . All reccomendations welcome thanks in advance.

The best hotel in my opinion in London at the moment is the covent garden hotel.
Very central,on the edge of the busy soho and the theatre district and walking distance to a lot of lively pubs and café's and restaurants.

It also has a very very nice restaurant and a trendy [that word is so 80's!] bar.

There is a four seasons out at Canary wharf which is practically a stones throw from the o2 but the area is dead in the evenings.

Have you read the MEGATHREAD on London the the top of the forum?
Failing that, without sounding like a smartass, there's TripAdvisor.

My 2c: Premier Inns are good value.

We went for a 3 night break last year and stayed in th NH harrington hall. Its in Kensington and very close to all the action. Its a nice hotel with a great breakfast and its was very reasonable for a 4 star. We booked on alpharooms.com but travelrepblic.ie have great rates usually for this plcae too. Its worth checking out. We told teh hotel that it was a birthday treat and they upgraded us to a huge room!

Stayed in the Premier Inn Tower Hill recently and couldn't recommend it more. The rooms are spacious and it is very reasonable for London. The staff are really first class as well. It is just 3 mins walk from Tower Gateway (DLR to O2) and 5 mins walk to Tower Hill tube.

I suppose it depends what you want, but if just looking for somewhere to lay your head with a good breakfast and reasonably priced it is worth a look.

I also stayed in the Tower Hill Premier Inn about a year ago. Couldn't recommend it enough. And great value.
