With play.com you will get it around a week after release.

asda, thehut and amazon you will get on release day with express delivery.

gamesnash.ie you can get a day early from my past experiences.

play.com are great if you live in the UK, just not here.

gamesnash.ie have a forum on boards. They do not advertise that you will get a game early as they can get heavy fines but it have happened me 4 or 5 times. I got games like GTA 4, Gears 2, Res 5, Halo ODST all a day early with them.

Every time I used them for a big release pre-order I got it a day early. I only use them for stuff I want early because they are more expensive than the likes of thehut or amazon which I use for everything else.

    Hi MarkY91,

To be honest with you there is no way you will get black ops a day early from us and I wouldn't place an order with the hope of getting it early. It's out on a Tuesday and we will be dispatching early on the Monday with the aim being for release day delivery and not before. Some publishers allow postage 2 days before release whilst some absolutely insist on us holding off until the day before release day (which is becoming more and more common particularly with bigger releases) Posting this at 5am because we're shipping Fifa 11 this morning in time for first postal collection biggrin.gif

The main reason we would be more expensive than the hut is because we are based in Ireland and our price includes 21% VAT whereas the jersey based sites are technically based outside the EU and are not charging VAT in their price. (This is not the case for Amazon but their display price shows a lower UK vat rate which changes as you check out) The trade off is that we get the game to you earlier and of course there is no chance of your game being stopped by customs and having charges levied on it. We're actually cheaper than play.com even with the 21% VAT on our price.

I wouldnt bother preordering it tbh, every place that sells games will have hundreds of copies of it, if theres a tesco, game, hmv, gamestop or xtravision anywhere near you just go there on release day, no fuss, no muss.

I'm getting it on release day from the gamestop nearest to me, but I won't actually be able to play it until the following weekend :(

I agree, just go out and buy it in the store on release day.
I pre-ordered bf bc2 for pc from game uk and because it was a friday release date it was delayed over the weekend and i didn`t get the game untill nearly a week later. The irish postal system sucks!I have a mate in the north and he can order something in the evening and quite often he gets it the next day or the day after that.

€60 for the regular edition of the game on gamesnash?? If you guys got in special editions of games I'd probably be tempted but for now I think I'll stick with Gamestop for Black Ops :p

  • Company Representative Posts: 2,957 ✭✭✭Gamesnash.ie: Pat

    Hi Batmantastic,

That's fair enough :), For what it's worth that's the best price we can put it out at based on the cost price and delivery costs to get it to our customers. It is €10 cheaper than the RRP.

Special editions of games can be extremely difficult for us to source. It's not that we don't want to carry them more like they are not made available to us as independent retailers.

That's a damned shame. If you could compete with retailers with special editions that would be amazing.

Im going to risk ordering from the hut again this year. The shipped it on Thursday the 5th and I got it on Monday the 9th a day early.

What I will do this year is if it hasnt been shipped by Thursday or Friday is cancal the order and go into a shop and get it.

um i also have a question what about if you pre-order hardened edition off best buy online with express shipping? What day do you think ill get it? Release date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭hypermuse

Release day.. the day after.. It doesnt really make a huge difference does it??

Maybe I'd think differently if I didnt have a job!! haha! then again.. I wouldnt be able to afford it!

From what I know tesco will not be doing it incredibly cheaper.. Plus in the long run even if it was cheaper in tesco it wouldnt really make that much difference coz if you get it in, for example game, and use your points card your probably breaking even.
