I dont think this was posted before, but I was looking at the few pages in Classic Car Magazine and read about the Nissan collection underneath the Autech factory in a Tokyo suburb, so I found a link to one here.

Have to say I think it's pretty cool, especially since all the cars have obviously been fairly well used - not a minter among 'em! ;)

I like that some of them look like they were just parked up and not washed or anything.

I wouldn't be a fan of Japanese motors in any way but I would literally murder someone with their own arms for a first gen Skyline GT-R coupe like this one.

    I'd also take a Toyota 2000 GT.

I reckon that 1/4 of them are pre-production prototypes, then there are a few brand new unregistered cars there too. I like those very early Datsuns from the 30s...especially as they were a complete unknown outside japan at the time. I was trying to find the Nissan Prince Royal owned by the Emperor but it doesnt appear there, but a few of his other cars do, including the Nissan Austin. As for the cambridge and R10, maybe the company just own them, or used them for evaluation purposes for new datsuns at the time.....

I think (though open to correction on this) that Datsun,or maybe Prince motors built them under licence.

What a great collection of photos.
Although where are the Pixos and Tidas !!!
Seriously though what a great heritage, it would really show anybody who thinks that Japanese cars are all just sole less econoboxes
Anyone know what that red ‘fairlady’ is. I know that ‘fairlady’ is the JDM name for the 300ZX, the only 300ZXish thing about that car is the lower front bumper and the rear lamps look similar

Does anyone have any experience of importing a classic from Japan. Any good websites ?, what are prices like?

At least we now know where the old Nissan Competition cars end up

I love the way that the ex-Safari Rally cars are just as they entered the final control, dents and scratches remaining.

I wonder if any of the "previously driven" rally and race cars would start with a simple turn of the key....

I'd be hoping that. I'd love to hear and see some of them at Goodwood

While i dont deny old Datsun/Nissans are nasty rotters, usually mechanically they are pretty bulletproof.
