Rehearsal studio recommendations [Dublin]

Yes, I've looked through the sticky up top... but a name of a studio doesn't do much. I haven't been in any rehearsal studios in Dublin city center in a year or so. The last one I've been to is Troubadour and while nice it can be a bit of a pain to get to.

Needless to say, I'm not sure what the situation is like with the city centre ones now...

    Anyone care to enlighten me?

I'm looking for a place with reasonable quality gear, clean-ish (my hopes aren't too high on that from experience) and in the city centre somewhere. Also not priced too high.

The jam factory on james' st is pretty decent!, i think its james' st anyways, right beside the hospital and the luas line!

60 quid for like 4 hours i think.

Hmm, I've gone by that place a few times but never been in. Ever rehearsed there?

I like Applerock. Clean, although constantly being refurbished; sound staff; not mad expensive; old but well-maintained gear (unless you're unlucky that night); free secure parking; right beside Connolly.

Yeah its where we rehearse! The guy is working almost round the clock doing the place up inside, but the rooms are very decent! and the gear is good too. The front room is perhaps the best and its comfortable too!

The only issue is parking, its fine after 7 but usually an evening session starts at 6 so the first hour is spent watching for clampers! :D

    Awesome, I'll give it a go! :D

Is there no off street parking?

It always reminds me of school gym changing rooms. :pac:

I agree - Dedsound is very good. I've used it twice. Very clean and good gear. Free parking is a plus too. It's out of the city centre though. JFK industrial estate I think.

Has anyone here used Muzzle? Any good?

    Wo ist die Gemütlichkeit?

IMO Unit 1 Studios is worth checking out. I have never rehearsed there but I called in to have a look. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner has a recording studio there too. It is not quite in the city centre, but off the Sth Circuler Rd.

Is that because of the benches along the walls, or the stench of hormonal youth?:D

Ted in Dedsound is yr man ! Great studios, best of gear, really knows his stuff soundwise. Spotless. Not in CC though but easy to get to and plenty of parking

yeah, I have used muzzle a fair bit. cant complain about it, decent set up and sound lads.

    Usual city centre ones are

    Apple Rock
    Loop
    The Temple Bar Music Centre
    The Jam Factory
    Black Pitts

all one in the same really although I think the Jam Factory is pretty savage, just not the greatest session times/price

Dont like the rooms in blackpitts at all! They are small and crappy!

    Jam factory is much better.

Dedsound is quite good too but very minimalist, the room i was in was anyways but if thats your thing its fine!
