For anyone travelling home from Fuerteventura with Aer Lingus - don't bother checking in online for the return trip if you have checked luggage. Clever, the Aer Lingus handling agents in Fuerteventura Airport, have no bag tag and drop facilities.

You still have to join the check in queue, where someone will take your suitcase and print you another boarding card. Checking in online is a futile exercise.

I heard a rumour that someone travelling hand luggage only also had to queue up as their home printed boarding card wasn't accepted, but didn't witness that myself.

It's like that in many places. Same for example in Düsseldorf. Aer Lingus have only two little counters - both serve normal check-in and bag drop. If you have a bag, you have to queue and will get a fresh boarding card. If you have carry-on only though, you can go straight to security.
