Nice Polish Music?

Can anyone recommend some Polish musicians with an easy-listening, jazzy kind of music? I'm familiar with the punkier side of Polish music thanks to my Polish friends but I prefer something more mellow. I have cds by Anna Maria Jopek and Grzegorz Turnau and love them to bits, but I've played them almost to death by now.

Also, if anyone knows a good place to acquire these cds, that'd be much appreciated too. Dziękuję!

I might suggest John Porter and Anita Lipnicka. They are a couple, and while he is English, he has been living in Poland since 1976. It's fairly easy-going music.

You might like Czesław Śpiewa, although he has a good bit more uptempo stuff too.

Both are generally easy going music.

One other is Urszula (Urszula Kasprzak) who is a bit more pop-rock based.

Uczę się polskiego ale nie rozumiem wszystko....

One thing that really struck me back when I started was how different Polish sounds to Russian. It sounds a little more Mediterranean and nowhere near as harsh. It makes for nice music. I've actually wondered the same about English, how it sounds to someone who doesn't understand the words. I imagine it sounds like softer German.

I used to listen to music in english all my teenage years and i didnt understand most of the words untill i was 15/16 maybe.. english is like made for music, soft, nice and "melodious" (is that the word? For me its nothing like German and i used to learn German too -there is many similar words (which makes easy for english native speakers to learn and for germans to learn english) No, i dont know, there is no language like english i think and i cant remember anymore how does it sound when you dont understand it!
