JF here, just got my lab times and I have Biolab on Friday afternoon from 2 - 5pm. Only other class that day is Math at 9am so to say I dont like this arrangement is an understatement. Any chance of moving to Thursday afternoon or Friday morning do you think if I give them some sob story? And who should I speak to about that?

You would have to go to the course office to get a lab moved. To be honest with out a strong reason they tend not to move them. Have maths tutorials been assigned yet? You could end up with one in the meantime, if not mathlabs could also possibly fill the gap in a few weeks.

Afaik, they only tend to move Friday evening labs for (country) people who would be making the longer journey home on Friday evening.

If you don't want to go to a lab, well don't go.

The Pav is open all day and would love to relieve you of a few sheckles. Of course all the profits go to a good cause.

As Craguls asked, have the maths labs or tutorials been set yet? What about the Biology labs? I managed to fill 3 hours of a 4 hour gap last year with tutorials etc. in a similar situation to yours.

I think its a hint that you are meant to use the library.

Tbh 10-2 of a gap isnt as bad as it could be. There are alot worse, believe me.

To be honest, there's probably a lot of people who do maths and have the same bio lab as you. Doesn't really count as a special circumstance. The rest of the people in your position are just going to deal with it.

(warning: I may just be bitter because I have a 7 hour gap on wednesdays, 4 hour gap on tuesdays and a three hour gap on mondays)

The only people they seem to be switching labs for are the poor unfortunates who got stuck with the thursday afternoon one, meaning a nine to five day with no breaks.
