Subaru Impreza GL

I recently came across a lovely looking subaru impreza GL for sale.

can anyone tell me what their lie?
its a 1.6 non turbo, so would it be a quick oul bus??
more importantly, what would insurance be like??
i would be insuring it as a named driver on my fathers policy, as im only 18, buti have a full licence.

any info would be very much appreciated

Yep the only thing similar to the WRX on these is the fuel consumption. you'll have lads in 1.3 Corollas trashing you!

Must be a special one off edition so, because no Corolla (short of Sainz's WRC car) could ever be descibed as a rocket!

I assume it's not a twin cam because of the OPs age, to be fair to him, it's a much faster car than I had at 18!

Exactly, speed is relative, a 1.6 Corolla would seem like a rocket to someone who's only ever driven 1 litre Micras whereas it will be dog slow to someone who's used to a 200BHP car plus, but the 200bhp car will seem slow to someone who's used to a 500bhp car and so on....

no not a twincam, that dream has yet to be accomplished!*sigh*

its a corolla sr. maybe not a huge top speed, but it is a rocket off the line!!!
and while im at it, i might not be used to driving 200bhp cars, but i only ever drove a 1litre micra once, when i had to drive my grans one to boot up the battery a bit. first car, 1.6 carinaE, then 2.0 sonata, and now the sr.
