    From the Journal website:
    "The Irish Farmers Journal is the only Agricultural publication that operates as a legal Trust. The only mandate is to provide the best possible technical support, market information and news to the agri – sector.
    "No dividends are paid and the Directors receive no fees.
    "All profits go back into meeting the Trust’s objectives – to enhance the competitiveness of Irish farming and the wellbeing of those engaged in the sector."

    So the question is, who owns the IFJ Trust? afaik it also owns The Irish Field, and The Irish Catholic.

    I don't know anything about the ownership of the IFJ, but trustees own a trust. They however do not own it in terms of making a personal profit (athough they may get a salary), they are just custodians and are expected to use any gains in furtherance of the objects of the trust.

    The IFJ is an extemely well run and edited paper though!

    yea some of the best in the country, jezus when he couldnt make money from em theres little hope for me so..

    i think when the accountants saw how much money was tied up in em versus how much of a return was from them they pulled the plug i think they have 3 or 4 cows left tho.

    After a bit of web searching found this;

    "The Irish Farmers Journal is the only Agricultural publication that operates as a legal Trust."

    Whatever about its ownership, it is like the print wing of the IFA, Macra and FBD.
