Hi there , Ive read so many conflicting / unofficial reports on the net , but I am wondering if anybody knows the bottom line . Will not ejaculating mean more testosterone in the body ? and would one experience the knock on effects of having more testosterone which I imagine are maybe aggression , competetiveness etc

As far as I know there's no significant link between masturbation and testosterone levels but I'm no expert. I'd say higher testosterone levels tends to lead to greater amounts of sexual activity but I wouldn't guess at much else being true.

If you really want increased testosterone levels then you'd probably be better off sticking to a diet that promotes it. I would think you'd need quite a high level to see any notable increase in aggressive behaviour.

The below should answer most of your questions.

Short answer, sexual release raises testosterone levels, but not by a substantially amount. It's very hard to do anything natural to your testosterone levels to raise them to the point where it would have an effect on your mood.

Even with regard to increased test levels affecting your mood to such a degree, the quickest and most direct way to affect your test levels is to take steroids, and anyone who has done even a little research on the subject will find it hard to say that "roid rage" is a factual truth. Steroids have been shown to have an affect on aggression yes, but not reduce people to psychotic lunatics that the stereotype would have you believe.

Finally, the true heights or limits of your strength rest in your muscles and your ability to generate force and velocity. It's a mass , body composition and technique issue, not an Endocrinol one.

If you want to get stronger, train hard.

I would suggest reading the below, as it's an interesting study.

I get fairly lethargic and irritable if I go more than a few days without a release, not agressive or competitive, just annoyed at little things.

I can't say the same for everyone, but holding back natural desires doesn't seem like the type of thing to make me competitive, it would make me pissed off, but without focus really.

Don't forget that sexual release also causes the release of plenty of happy hormones into your system. Dopamine, Serotonin, Oxytocin etc.

By and large your brain doesn't really know if you have just had sex with a girl or with your hand, it just knows you got laid.

This has long been a thing in boxing, no nookie in the lead up to a big fight. It's basically a myth which has kept being reinforced by action, but not by science.

About the only thing that could be said for it that in the run up to a fight a pro boxer time is fairly limited to training, eating, resting and they don't want the rest time being taken up by any kind of activity.
