Win 7 Dell recovery Q

    Hi all,

I have a laptop to look at, a Dell Inspiron 1564. 3 partitons --> OS, Data & Restore (shipped with WIn 7 installed)

The user installed XP to find that there are no XP drivers. So, installed Win 7 from an all-in-one disc and is running fine. I'd like to restore it back to "out of the box" Dell Windows 7 to get a trial of Office back.

When I tap F8 at switch on, I get the usual menu minus the Dell option down the bottom to restore back to Win 7 using the recovery partition.

Any ideas on how to kick off the Dell recovery? Is there a ctrl+F? keystroke or is it all through F8?

    TIA

    Ctrl+F11 should kick it off
I would advise against it though, bloatware central!!

    Ctrl+F11 is for XP

PC Decrappifier comes in handy for the bloatware

How bad do you want office trial ? Would open office meet your needs ? It's free, open source and kicks m$ office in the nuts !

Thing is, it's not my laptop. It's probably not the end of the world if Office isn't on it and OO will suffice.

At the same time, I'm curious to see if I can get the Dell factoy image option back! All I'm getting is as per the attachment :-(

I have access to a Vista disc from Dell which may revive that link with a bit of luck...worth a try!
