Restoring 3GS backup to 4

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to restore a backup from a 3GS onto a brand new iPhone 4.

    When I go to "Setup phone from a previous backup" the 3GS backup isn't there.

    If I go to Preference => Devices, I can see the backup there.

    When I plug in my old 3GS, the backup is available to restore from, but when I try to do it with the iPhone 4 the backup isn't on the list.

    Any ideas? :s

    Tbh ur better off to set up a new phone. Before that though make sure pics contacts and everything else is set to sync and sun the 3GS
    The only things ya won't have is texts or emails

    Are both phones running the same software version? I was trying to do a restore from backup with a 3G running 4.1 and an iPhone 4 running 4.0.1 and it wouldn't let me as the iOS versions were different.
