I've got tickets for Saturdays match in Block 421 but looking at the Aviva seating plan it doesnt seem to show block 421. Anyone have any idea where it is and whether they are good seats?

Level 4 is hospitality suites. Did you get it off a company?

Got it off a friend who probably did get it off a company. What does the hospitality suite entail? really hope its not a corporate box!

Get that shirt and tie on! Stop cheering! There's business to be done! :D

The ticket should have some info on it tbh, they normally do, I've been at a few (dirty sell out bank/taxpayer funded) corp boxes at twickenham/emirates and the tickets had very very small print with info on where to go. they often get handed around to potential clients / family members / mates etc. nothing to worry about. *cough* sell out *cough*

Think its outside the stadium down the road beside the long stand, not to worry you'll hear the game, sure isn't it the atmosphere that counts!:D

Level 4 is premium level. Not corporate level.
Section 421 is south stand. Behind goals. Its where we're running a Supporters Club event for the Samoan test in November
Might be wrong on which is which. Haven't worked there since O2 Challenge

It's the other way around ... level 3 is Premium, the corporate boxes are above the premium level.

Yep. I popped up quickly on saturday.
There is a suite that goes from one corner of the corporate level to the other in the south stand (421-431).
This is where we're holding the event on 13th Nov and I thought it was the premium level because it wasn't a succession of boxes.

My first time in the Aviva stadium on saturday night. Very impressive stadium, but i have two concerns i will share:
    1) My seats - Block 509, row AA, as per the attachment, provides very poor view of the play (if you suffer from vertigo, you're in trouble!). Also the two large stadium screens are obstructed (one on the south stand totally obstructed & one on south stand partially obstructed (but too far away to see anyway!!) ........ It was circa €40 for these tickets, but I would have to pay circa €100 per ticket for upcoming autumn internations ... NOT WORTH IT, BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING TICKETS, BE AWARE THAT THESE ARE NOT GREAT SEATS!!!!
    2) Getting out of the stadium is a bity of a nightmare. The exit points in the stands are quite narrow and the stairwell down from the upper tiers is narrow (especially when you compare this to the spiral ramp getting down from the upper stand in Croker.

Was there for Leinster v Munster

My first game at the Aviva. Was very disappointed. Despite paying €50 per ticket, we were above in the bleachers with both screens completely obstructed and the top of one of the goals obstructed. If you have upper tier rows AA, BB, CC etc you can expect to be disappointed.

Was also very difficult to exit the stadium. Couldn't believe the crowd congestion after the game.

Beggars belief that a new stadium could be built with such obvious defects.

Doesn't surprise me though. All show with zero substance. Typical of the Celtic Tiger era Ireland..

    Not a patch on Croker.

I was in the premium level, west side. No issues getting in or out, like so many others ... but I booked the west stand on the basis that it has, by far, the best in/out routes.

The premium level was nothing like the one at Croker - not nearly as good.

Toilets: Whoever designed these should be shot. You want a good flow (no pun intended) of people so, an entrance followed by a do-your-business area, followed by sinks, followed by an exit. No, not in this stadium. There's only one standard sized door for in and out ... so it's a nightmare, and takes ages to get to the loo and get out again.

Bar: I just wanted a pint at half-time, and as I was sitting at the end of the row and wouldn't annoy anyone, I nipped inside on 38 minutes. I wasn't able to get a pint. By the time I was *nearly* at the front, the second-half was kicking off. There are about 5 taps on the premium level bar on the west side - "what would you like, sir?", followed by them getting it for you. Takes ages. Have taps like in the Millennium stadium that pump out pints, and have the guys on the front line just sell them, rather than pour them too. Everyone's a winner, this way.

Head and shoulders above Croke Park in all areas apart from capacity in my experience both as a punter and working in match-day operations.

By November, the problems experienced on Saturday (the first large match at the stadium) will be a (poor) memory.

In general, I agree ... it was nice for rugby to be 'home' and for the most part, it was great. My only criticism was the premium level in Croke Park is more 'premium' than the one in Lansdowne Road... there's no doubt about that.

Was in section 302 (premium) quite a good view of the match, would have liked more legroom though. Other than that a pretty decent affair overall.

Insofar that the bar service was dire, whereas in Croke Park it is very well organised in the premium level. Also, in Croke Park premium level, the toilets are adequate for the number of people there - unlike Lansdowne Road.

Lastly, the premium level in Croke Park feels like there is considerably fewer people in it - meaning it doesn't get so rammed.

The seats in Lansdowne Road are comfier, though - with padding. They still don't come up to the standard of the Emirates Stadium, which are armchair like in comparison!

Dunno. Croker is crap for Rugby but great for GAA. It was built for GAA though so rightly works very well for that.

Wasnt very impressed with the new Lansdowne road at all but wouldnt say "not a patch on Corker". Both have good and bad poiints.

Overall Lansdowne Road is too expensive (tickets, food , drink), the guy on the PA is painful to listen to and its a pain in the ass to get in and out of, so wont be in a huge rush back..but thats just me.

Anybody else thing the lower tier is a bit flat? If you had a tallish person in front of you might struggle big time to see!

Section 511 anyone? View in general?

Aside from the lower tier being far too shallow I really like the seating in Aviva. Re: atmosphere I find that if a game doesn't have it the stadium won't help it any.

Looking back through this thread I have to say Justin got it spot on.. The first derby was quickly forgotten once the Clermont match rolled around, and then the England game the following year and then the Leicester and Toulouse games... The latter being one of the most intense, atmospheric games I've ever been witness too.

When the Aviva is hot it's boiling over... I've sat everywhere at this stage, literally everywhere, and I find the best seats located on the upper tier behind the goal posts (516-518) if you get a seat near the front of the barrier. For club games these seats are always cheap (30euro) and offer a superb seat and you get deafened by the sound for some reason, great vibe, and great view of the entire pitch and screen.

In terms of value the front of the upper is excellent- you have a balance of height and distance from pitch.

Seating in the upper is great, as long as you're not too high, anywhere along either west or east stand is brilliant.

Haven't been on the lower for much.

One thing I will say though is it's a pure death trap to get out of. Myself and my mates have taken to having a pint in the stadium now rather than risk the crush which goes on in the tunnels around the Dart line, very uncomfortable.

The beer service has also improved. At least now at half time they're pouring pints non stop rather than waiting for an order and then pouring.

Got a seat for the Munster game which was halfway back in section 525 and it was without doubt the best view I've ever had in any stadium.

524-527 and halfway back is perfect imo.

I was really high up for the French game in August and I thought the view was absolutely fine. You lose sight of the ball if it goes high but it's easy to see where it's going if you watch the back 3.

Can anyone tell me where the rugby teams enter and exit the playing field at the Aviva statium? I want to get tickets as close to that as possible. Any help would be welcome. Thanks.
