Can anybody remember what they done before the internet?

    When I was a kid.
I use to go outside and play and go on adventures in the woods and things like that. Thank God there was no internet then.

I use to go on camps and keep in touch with people by writting letters,
people now a days dont know what a postman is and more often than not they're mistaken for a polish guy sticking spam through your door.

For school projects I'd have to go to the library and actually read through a book, thank God for wikipedia now

Before I'd have to go to friend's house and perv at their sisters for cheap trills, now porn sites are just a click away.

So what was your life like before the Internet?

    Same here.

I think people (before the Internet) developed better communication and interpersonal skills. People were better educated in things like spelling and maths.

The internet is also making kids fat and lazy.

Exactly. The internet has enriched my life in the same way as junk food. I can't remember back when I didn't have the internet, and I can't remember what vegetables taste like. I find this lack of memory is a virtue. Now that I've replied, can I go back to watching porn and buying stuff off ebay while eating a huge block of chocolate?

    Alot of truth in that.

Made treehuts, hide-outs, cycled everywhere, played football, bulldog, 21, and hide and seek.

Internet came into life around the same time as drink did, so it was epic.

Summers used to be spent playing football, abit of tennis when wimbledon was on, going on adventures in the woods, generally a very active childhood.
We did play alot of playstation but it didnt hold the same power over us that games today seem to have for kids. Im pretty sure if we had the digital distractions of nowadays we would never have left the house from June to September!

Got the internet when I was just after becoming a teen.
Before that I used to watch Nickelodeon to pass the time and watch Euro Trash and Ibiza uncovered for thrills.

    Eurotrash was a minefield.

    1 segment: Cicciolina
2 segment: Naked ugly male cleaners
3 segment: Jean Paul Gaultier simpering at Antoine. -I thought this was hilarious, but somewhat distracting
4 segment: Nudist colony in Belgium cooks barbeque.
Closing segment: Bad mimed europop as Antoine and Jean Paul dance.

Try getting the magic going looking at that.

You just had to be really quick. Same with Ibiza uncovered, you'd get a few flashes of tit and have to make do with that.

Plus the quick flashes of tit encouraged the use of memory and imagination. Two things that the current youth are sadly missing out on.

Whatever happened to recording bad filth from ITV at 3am and then watching that later. Tobe Hooper's lifeforce: 5 minutes of naked vampire wandering about.

N.B. She wasn't a vampire, she was an actress.

Also, Rai Uno (when super channel etc where all going strong) at one point showed this gameshow when I was 12 or so, it contained a topless woman pretending to cook a rubber chicken.

    Sigh. Simpler times.

    Chances on Sky 1.

That was a quality show for the auld nudity before we got past 28k modems.

    Before Internet:
Laugh with my classmates while looking out the school window as a dog shags another dog on the wall.

    After Internet:
Watch with a look of disgust as a dog shags a woman.........in HD!

Building huts/ Treehouses, Knick-Knacks on doors, climbing trees,bob-a-job (but we weren't in scouts) messin around building sites, British bull dog, tip the can, football, Wood & pegs to fire elastics, chatting up the spanish girls, catapults, curbs, burning stuff, camping the list is endless. We also had cool knives back then but they weren't for stabbing people they were for shapening sticks and carving names in the trees.

Not really sure what the problem is, was only a bit of social satire.
