Try www.eiretyres.com. All makes and sizes available. Price includes delivery. Have used this site twice recently and found it very good.

Cheap and tyres should never be in a sentence together. Ultimately they're the only thing keeping you on the road, splash out for proper safety.

you could try tyreland, they use part worn tyres, the charge E1 per millimetre of thread i.e the 4.5mm is E45 per tyre or 6mm is E60, that includes fitting and balancing. The legal minimum and lethal thread depth here is 1.6mm!

To be fair - the OP said he didn't want to pay the price that some garages were charging, not that he wanted a set of the cheapest tat with no grip.

Camskill.co.uk are usually the cheapest around - you'll need to find someone to fit them first though.

Alloy-wheels.ie are able to match Camskill for prices on certain brands, and would be well worth getting in contact with. They're based in Dublin 15.

Step 1 - Get an independant local fitter to give you a price for fitting & balancing tyres sourced by yourself.

Step 2 - Ask him for his best price for an equivilent set.

Step 3 - Compare the prices (as an op has already said, Camskill usually the best online)

    Step 4 - Make your decision:D

PS: Don't scrimp on tyres. They are your point of contact with the road. Unless you are really desparate, do not use part worn tyres. You dont know their history. The liklihood of getting a structurally damaged tyre is very high and it can be impossible to tell until its put under pressure.

I got 2 of these fitted for £130 in a town just outside Enniskillen this weekend which works out to be about €150 so I was pretty happy with that.

Cheap and tyres are two words that should not be put together. Its the most important part of the car. Good value for good tyres is a must but chepo tyres espically on a RWD car are a no no in my book.

I will echo the others remarks on cheap tyres.

Just for people buying online as well, make sure you have a place to get them fitted when they arrive, as I think you would be surprised by the amount of garages that [hick]don' take kindly to internet tyres round ere.[/hick]

Very true about the cheap tyres, its our point of contact with the road. Im very happy with the price I got for my tyres, they would be considered a good quality tyre
