I am heading to lahinch next week and I will be under mad pressure to get there as quick as possible (within in legal means !! )

What is the best route .. I have been told either via Loughrea or Limerick ... anyone any suggestions?

Your best option would possibly be to go from Dub to Galway, and take the oranmore exit off the M6 and go from there to the N18 as far as Kilcolgan. From there take the N67 to Lahinch

Should be doable in about 3 hrs 20

I've no idea where you are coming from in Dublin, so that is based on coming from the Spire

    Other option

    - If you come off the M6 around Ballinasloe and drive back roads you could knock 15 mins, maybe, off that, but the roads aren't great around there plus if you hit agri traffic you're screwed as those roads are pretty narrow for overtaking

Personally I would go via limerick, apart from the section between Borris in Ossory and Castletown it is motorway as far as limerick. You can then bypass the city using the tunnel and will be on dual carriage way until Ennis.

You don't say where in Dublin you are coming from or at what time of the day but from the red cow to the Ennis side of the of the tunnel should be doable in about 2 hours (without breaking the law).

yeah, since yesterday, the route via Co. Limerick is better. It's all ws2, HQD2, D3AP or D2M from the redcow to Ennis.

    the N18 is poor.
