could somebody enighted me please. I am studying business picking modules in finance (very few - no option there) I am bored by everything but would like to maybe become a trader or stockbroker. I tink it would be really interesting making lots of money from buying and selling bonds and stock.

I need experience though for 6 to 9 months from next january and would anybody know if ther would be any place in waterford or tipperary or cork that would be able to take me on a placement (paid prefered) or someplace similar that wouldgive me some knowledge or skills for this career also would a management accounting placement give me some experience in this area or would it be completely invalid?

could anone enlighten me in tis career area? and also would i be able to buy and sell stock, shares etc for my own benefit? tanks

I don't see how management accounting could help in this exact field.. however a job applicant with accounting experience in college will always get a job over someone who didn't bother.

As for paid work experience.. I'm not sure where you could apply and I'm not sure what use you could be to anyone in this area .. I doubt there would be many paid positions.

I did know some people working in banks in London studying for CIMA. They worked as product pricing analysts and stuff like that - a good bit removed from trading though.
