Does anyone know of anywhere or anyone (preferably around dublin area) that can reconnect an old style telephone? I've recently gotten my hands on an old phone (similar to bakelite telephone, could even be one) and really want to get it up and working but cant seem to find anywhere that advertise this service outside of the UK. Its super heavy so posting it would cost a fortune id imagine :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks :)

    Welcome to Boards.ie

Interesting question I assume you're talking about a rotary dial phone rather then the really old ones where you had to talk to the operator?

I think the electronics are pretty basic so probably any radio/tv type repair place could do it for you. You may have to buy a "modern" rotary phone (check ebay) and use the innards.

It may be just a case of fitting a modern jackplug onto the old wires.
