I would stay away from spring pistols. Why not get a GNB? A bit cheaper than a GBB but with all the same performance (minus recoil) :)

    Example: http://www.seairsoft.net/product_details.php?id=947&sub=1&subcat=Pistol

what do you like the best or the idea of best? why not save up a little more and get what you want instead of second best?

id recomend a gbb glock, but thats just me.

kj works plastic ruger mk1 shoots at 300 fps on 134a, hc hsc or kwc baby eagle are all pretty cheap gnb, though be carefull with the ruger mk1, make sure its the plastic one and you fill it with 134a or it could be illegal

horses for courses, i've tried a lot of back ups and to be honest a GBB pistol is great craic to use during the game not just for back ups.

I think it would be a waste of money to buy a springer as some as you fire a GBB you will want one, so you may as well hang on of see if you can pick up a deal in the adverts section up top.

have a HFC desert eagle, good craic and looks good but can't help but think it looks a bit stupid in a skirmish, i'd normally bring my TM Glock 17 or WE Desert warrior, both cracking pieces.

Best advice is try out as many as you can before you, even if its just holding them at a site some pistols feel right and some feel so wrong you'll never use 'em

baby eagles might be a good compromise, they are far more practical and cheaper but not as cool looking , i have tm hard kick desert eagle whihc i am swaping for a ruger blackhawk, one impractical pistol for another one, but all of them are of limited use when faced with some bloke with a AEG and a hicap mag. I also have the kwc baby eagle its non blow back but looks great uses CO2 (so will work in cold weather), full trades, shoots 300 FPS, very accurate
    and is pretty cheap.

never knew CO2 worked in cold weather
think i'll get a CO2 pistol as its always cold when i go airsoft :P
how much was your baby eagle ? :P
    thanks shane :D

The KJ Works carbon dioxide Beretta M9 is probably the one for you then. It's deadly.

I do have one, but I got it second-hand so don't know what they cost new. Hobby Airsoft do them under the Cybergun brand, I think, I don't know who else. Pictures are readily available on the Internator!

Excellent blow-back and good and reliable. Also it's that gun off telly.

A new KJ works M9A1/FS is genrally 145 euro more or less
or if you rather an M1911 there is a KJ works/cybergun 1911PD for the same price are links two of them from an irish shop CO2 pistols.

I've both of the above, the KJW CO2 M9, and 1911PD. Both are great pistols. I've always been more partial to M9's than to 1911's, so I'm a little biased. But the kick off the 1911 is second to none. The Beretta certainly has a strong kick, but it's just not as sharp as the 1911.

Both are accurate, have mags readily available for them, take a similar number of rounds and look equally awesome. It comes down to which you prefer the look of, to be honest.

Besides...you'll probably wind up owning both anyway
