its going to give you access to view and clear codes on the ECU on VAG manufactured cars once you have a laptop with an available USB port and VAGCOM installed..

i know, thats the reason i bought it. i was just wondering if is it good, what are their limitations, i got the software form the interweb but the cable itself seems a bit cheep. would it be a counterfit? i'll let ye know when i get it anyway. i have a few jobs lined up for it already. . .:D

To do any of the dealer functions your going to have to purchase a license from ross tech to use with a cable manufactured by a 3rd party. Ive used mine over the past 2 years and it has saved me a few quid...in helping to diagnose faults, clear codes when ive rectified the problem.
