Mac and Printers

    Hey guys,

    I have a MacBook, running on OS 10.5.8, and I'm having a lot of problems with printers. When I connect the USB to the Mac it just doesn't do anything and won't print any word docs. Doesn't matter what printer I'm using, the same seems to happen on my HP and my Brother..

    Any ideas what that's about?

    Did you install the drivers? Is the Mac detecting the printer?

    Yep, installed all the drivers from the Brother/ HP site. Even when I put the USB cable in it doesn't seem to know what's going on. Nothing pops up on my desktop and when I go to print something it kinda just pauses and does nothing. very frustrating as I just bought the new printer and walked a near two miles with it in the rain :(

    When you go to print, is the printer showing up in the drop-down menu? Even if it does show up, try adding it again by following the instructions here:

    Also, what model printer is it?

    I'm an idiot.

    I used to have a brother printer and the new one is canon... Silly, silly boy! Downloaded the wrong drive.
