Switching sd cards

I recently bought a 16 gig card for my desire, i've seen elsewhere people just say copy the contents of your old card to the new one and away you go.

I've done this but it doesn't work and suspect it may be due to the fact that my 4 gig card is partitioned?

So does anyone know what the best way to switch over is in this situation?

what exactly is going wrong when you copy from one to the other?

Well exactly what i've done is make all files visible and copy the entire contents of my 4 gig card to a folder on my desktop, then insert my 16 gig card and copy all those files back over into it.

When i started the phone it just showed the rom apps. I just unmounted and remounted the sd card and some of my installed apps have come back. I presume it's because some off my apps are installed on the partition or something and this info hasn't been copied over?...

Why dont you format the new card and partition it?
You'll probably have to keep at least one of the partitions (ie the main 'working' one) the same size as you had it before.

Yeah got it sorted. I was just being retarded. Formatted the card and partitioned it to ex3, then just copied everything over and ran titanium backup and all worked.

    Cheers for the replies.
