Is she doing any regular radio beyond her Drive Time cameos?

She was presenting a Show on BBC4 radio called "Between Ourselves" up to the end of 2008 and a documentary - "Ireland: Boom to bust" which aired last September.

Listening to her personal column on Drivetime today I was move to wonder. God knows its not like RTE is overburdened with incisive minds who are able to express themselves in a clear crisp manner.

    I completely agree.

As she herself would admit, FF don't like her.Maybe that's why she's not given more to do.

Sounds a good reason what a great radio broadcaster she is put a lot of the the regulars to shame

Bump! Her political column today was brilliant, drawing a parallel with the Talliban regarding the fall out of the death of Savita Halappanavar might sound like pushing things to an extreme but it was a compelling piece, hard to argue against I thought.

O'Leary really ought to be more employed.

One of the great mysteries of radio. Imagine Olivia presenting Drivetime instead of MW?

It would be a different programme entirely - like listening to BBC Radio four. Apart from having to do sports news with some yahoo.

Olivia O Leary is above and beyond RTE's calibre. Whereas Tubridy is a fish out of water whenever he moonlights at the BBC, the BBC fits Olivia like a glove. She has one of the best minds out there with an ability to analyse, articulate and distill complex subject matter right down in such a way that its accessible to the most casual listener and she does all of this with gravitas, a gravitas currently entirely lacking in any individual in montrose.

She's still working with BBC4, "One to One" is her latest series for them. I'd imagine the reason she not on air more often is simply down to her choosing not to be.

    I couldn't agree more.

Indeed or better still, the News at One & the Week in Politics.

In an ideal world, she would replace Áine Lawlor on Morning Ireland.

I just find it unfathomable that Miriam "Gennnnuuuiiiineely" O'Callaghan is seen as on the same par as OO'L.

I think Miriam O'Callaghan's career (and that of Claire Byrne) is utterly utterly unfathomable.
