New metal roof over existing felt roof

    Need to find solution for leaking felt roof on compressed fibreboard on rafters. No ventilation.

    I am considering ;
    2" x 1" battens on existing roof felt
    Leave void between bettens open
    VCL (vapour control layer) on battens.
    50mm Xtratherm insulation over battens
    2" x 1" battens fixed through insulation to exosting battens
    Simulated tile metal roof.

    My concerns are;
    1. Existing roof is not ventilated and I don't know if there is a vapour barrier between existing rafters. If I vent now it's pointless insulating.

    2. Fixing battens through insulation to existing battens may be weak.

    ANy thoughts.
