Talk about:

Learning responsibility and discipline by:
Managing their own money
Managing their time

Skills and experience:
Valuing money and the work involved
Interviewing experience for future jobs
Learning to work with others
Respect for coworkers and superiors

Long term:
Not all jobs would help with this but Assessing what type of job might be what they would like to have a career in, or even what they wouldn't like to have a career in.

Also its fun, you make friends and socialize etc etc
